Wine & Dine @







Had one of the most nerve-wrecking event ever yesterday.
went down to this place brownsugar for our private dining session..
my colleague was tied up with work so i was alone :(
thank god for this lovely sg tatler lady,C.
both of us stuck tog the whole night haha!
being an idiot at wine,i was truly intimidated and extremely afraid what it'd do to me.

dinner started after having some wine..
got really afraid seeing the table setting

there was only 10 of us.
4 knives and 4 fork for us. + 6 wine Glasses
imagine the horror not knowing which to start first!
thank god,we discreetly noted the others hahaa..
so pai seh can!
the place was very nicely decorated i wished my home was like that..
the red and black setting is just so so glam.

food arrived,5 course meal.
first up foie gras.
goodness....
i was praying so hard for my utensils to behave and not start having a mind of its own.
damn the foie gras,its so soft..didnt wanna get onto the fork.
the knife den started fighting with the fork causing a din. CB.
for a moment i wished it could turn into a plate of something sane,say ou lua.
but of cause,the foie gras insisted on staying..
im sorry i dont know how to appreciate that food.
give me some time, taste buds do change.

C. and i kept exchanging eye contact when more wines were served.
smiling to each other cause we were super unexperienced at these.
i loved the peachy one,sweet but ya...lethal.
mr wine connoisseur taught us alot abt the wines bt halfway through everyone spaced out.
there was just TOO many kinds.
7 types in front of me,but i kept picking the peachy one.
the red wines are horrid.seriously.
give me beer,anytime.

ok,at least im half an idiot now.
i finally understand why people must 'stir' the glass and to taste it with ur tongue etc.
it was enlightening i must say.
and Mr wine connoisseur was a great host !
unfortch,why do all australians i know personally have the same surname?
damn,and to have the same surname as the one i hate most.

btw,the rest at the table were the rich and i was super uncomfy.
haha,but even though rich they are still human.
too many wines too many kinds. they got mixed up like i did :)

the next few dishes were really good,surprisingly small portions but made me so full.
i guess ice wines still top of my list,the peachy one & the strawberry one
sorry i forgot the name la.

the whole thing ended at 11pm,with me reaching home only at 1145.
whatever,im down with flu and backache.
going to work only at 1pm.woohoo.
my boss is a truly lovely lady :))
