Arrived at Phuket at about 7am Phuket time,
had our 'personal' taxi driver - CHAI waiting for us.
Very sincere nice man who made our virgin trip to Phuket a pleasant one.
It was drizzling when we touched down,and the skies turned a darker shade of gray as we approached our hotel.
With no where we can go in such a wet weather,we slept till 6pm and Chai suggested Patong.
Went to Jungceylon their 'lifestyle' mall(looks so Vivo-ish)..nth much seriously. exp and boring..
the only interesting place was Carrefour!


Ate at BK. weirdly,we always look for fastfood overseas & most of the time they offer better choices! "HUNGRIEST"
After grocery shopping there we headed for Bangla Road.
Trannies,Buskers, Pubs, Bars, Discos, Shops, Restaurants, Boxing Champs all packed into 1 street.
Walked around,takin pics with trannies..putting tips between their plastic boobies. tsk
Nth much,shopping is a bore(zzz). fakes fakes and all fakes.worst still,exp and outdated!
Conquered half of Patong walking non-stop...only takin a break when we spot MacDonalds.hehe
Sat by Patong beach and it was the first glimpse of how scarily big and ferocious those waves were esp when the shore and beyond was pitch black.
Started getting goosebumps so we left the beach and continued on our journey..

Amazingly,we woke up bright and early in time for breakfast.(big boo boo.its no buffet and not even enough to fill up half of our tummies)
Rushed off to feel the warmth of the sun and to experience the beach.
Stayed at Kamala beach and soon after walking for 10min we realised Kamala wasnt the best choice.
The beach was really quiet and peaceful cept for another family running around.
The waves in the day wasnt any calmer.. in fact it was even stronger.
Spotted the Tsunami Evacuation Route sign and found out too that Kamala beach was the most badly hit by the Tsunami.
Back of the beach was a Muslim graveyard too. yikes.
Kamala was more of a fishing village so there wasnt much tuk tukk... around.
decided to 'gei-kiang' (act smart) and we attempted walk our way.
the sun was SCORCHING and after walking for about half an hour we gave up :(
missed the bus down to Phuket Town (25baht per trip = SGD1)
So we arrived at Phuket Town to realise it wasnt exactly a 'town' like i expect it to be..
it was just less rural.
KFC for lunch and they had HOT WINGS la... of course + my fave drink Pepsi.
with a very under-detailed map and a blistered feet we walked around Phuket Town.
Got 'lost' but er..attempted to walk to Central (a shoppin ctr far away)
spent almost 4 hours walking and chanced upon the Old Phuket Town.
It was a real eye-opener.those old building & shops..back to the 1970s.
& it being an "OLD town" we found something that made us super happy!
caw's ah gong 'asthma saver'.
ah gong told us it has already 'extinct' from m'sia as it was a real old remedy..
& that was what tt could cure his super cough at night..
so here we are exploring phuket and to chance upon this "GUO" smthing medicine is like a miracle.
we could only remember the first word of that med and it was my surname so i wrote it and showed the old lady who owned the place.
thank god she spoke hokkien and thus mr mah could converse with her..
we bought 3 boxes in the end which could last him almost 2/3 years :D




Went dwn to Central and BIG C (like supermarket GIANT) after
we love love love grocery shopping and bought some stuff back to "cook"
Central was a higher end type of mall with shops like Guess Bebe etc.
by the time we got out of Central it was already almost ten.
we got a lil "lost" and couldnt get a tuk tuk.
all were out to cheat our money..when Phuket is dark its truly scary.
had no choice but to settle for a taxi cause we were already half asleep..
transport in Phuket is EXP$$.
almost 80SGD spent on transport for 2 days :(
